Si vous voulez dorer des tranches de livres, il existe une alternative à la dorure à la feuille d'or : la dorure au rouleau à dorer sur tranche et une feuille de tranche de livre, qui est appliquée par la chaleur. Le rouleau à dorer les tranches est un appareil qui simplifie considérablement le processus de dorure des tranches de livres. À l'aide d'un rouleau chauffé, d'une pression et de l'utilisation d'une feuille thermoréactive, les tranches normalement blanches d'un livre peuvent être finies. Lorsque la feuille est appliquée à l'aide du rouleau à dorer les tranches, la chaleur et la pression font que la feuille se détache du support et est transférée sur la tranche du livre. Cela crée des coupes dorées ou argentées brillantes comme un miroir. Non seulement les coupes de livres, mais aussi les cartes de visite et d'autres produits en papier et en carton peuvent ainsi être facilement et proprement dorés.

Connexion du rouleau à dorer sur tranche
Le rouleau à dorer les tranches est équipé d'un chauffage électrique et doit être utilisé avec un régulateur thermostatique externe, sinon l'appareil surchauffera. La surchauffe entraînera le détachement de la couche de silicone du rouleau. Nous fournissons un thermostat en tant qu'accessoire, qui est équipé d'un bouton rotatif et d'une échelle.
Généralement, le moyen le plus sûr d'éviter d'endommager le rouleau est de le chauffer lentement jusqu'au niveau souhaité (généralement autour de 6-7), comme décrit dans les instructions. Cela peut prendre un certain temps. Mais dans tous les cas, après chaque changement de réglage, vous devez attendre au moins 10 minutes que le rouleau ait chauffé à la nouvelle température.
Le thermostat ne doit jamais être monté à fond - même pour un chauffage plus rapide - car la chaleur est générée à l'intérieur du noyau et n'est transmise à l'extérieur qu'avec un certain retard. Si vous avez trouvé le réglage optimal, notez cette valeur pour des instructions ultérieures afin de ne pas avoir à le déterminer à nouveau à grands frais.
Entretien et stockage
En aucun cas, la contamination du revêtement en caoutchouc ne doit être enlevée avec un objet pointu ou tranchant, car l'endommagement de la surface lisse entraînera inévitablement une mauvaise qualité de dorure.
La lubrification des surfaces d'appui n'est pas nécessaire et devrait également être omise dans l'intérêt de la propreté. Lors du stockage, il convient de veiller à ce que le rouleau ne repose pas longtemps sur le revêtement en caoutchouc, car cela peut entraîner une déformation de la surface.

It is normal that the roller takes 1 hour to heat up to a temperature of 160º, and thus to be able to work optimally? I consider this to be a long time.
It is also possible to set the thermostat to maximum for heating. However, there is a risk that the core of the roll gets too hot (it should never be heated above 200 °C, otherwise the rubber will start to break down), so we do not recommend this procedure. If you do this, the temperature must be constantly monitored to avoid overheating.
Does the thermostat have to be switched off when the roller has reached the target temperature?

Can I also use real gold foil on my books?
When do I need to use the edge gilding primer?
As a side note: Primer for hand gilding (pure real gold, not a heat-sensitive foil) is not suitable for use with heat-sensitive (hot-stamping) foil, because the foil has heat-sensitive adhesive included, which is not compatible with that kind of primer.
How much pressure do I need to apply with the roller?
In the past, our foil that we sold required quite a lot of force to apply. Since December 2021, our edge gilding foil is much easier to apply.
If you are not using our old foil (or other foil such as hot stamping foil), a high amount of pressure may be required to make the foil stick. Therefore, you might have to place the edge gilding roll in your shoulder and really apply high pressure. Try to roll over repeatedly from different angles (e.g. flat, slight left angle, slight right angle). Once you think you are and feel like the book has been covered, carefully lift the foil and if you see it has not applied everywhere put it down and fix it to the same position to go over the parts that did not hold with the gilding roll again (if you were to use new foil, this would result in two layers of foil in some parts, which are visible in the end).
